Suraiyah completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Auckland in 2014 and began her career in private practice as a sole trader. During this time, she was exposed to a diverse caseload of clients with a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions, from pre teens right up to the elderly. Suraiyah also spent a year working at Middlemore Hospital, a major public hospital in Auckland, in the orthopaedics ward, outpatients and spinal cord rehabilitation facilities.

Suraiyah then ran her own successful physiotherapy business for 2.5 years before migrating to Australia in 2019. Since then, she’s worked in aged-care facilities, gym settings and private clinics in Sydney and Brisbane. She has treated return to sport and return to work clients, and has experience with hydrotherapy classes, pilates classes, and exercise-based programmes. Suraiyah is now delving into the world of hypermobility with a strong desire to help patients achieve the best possible outcomes for their condition.

Suraiyah regularly engages in professional development courses, training and mentoring sessions, with a focus on hypermobility and exercise-based research, to ensure her skills and knowledge are kept up to date.
